The company is owned and managed by Séamus Mullen and is one of the few companies operating in the knowledge-based economy in Strabane District Council Area. Shell Live Wire acknowledged this fact by its inclusion of Straightforward Research and Development in the top 16 NI companies of its 2003 Shell Livewire Competition.

Seamus was the first person in Ireland to be awarded Professional Certification from SPSS Inc – demonstrating a high degree of proficiency in the world-leading statistical analysis software.
